Beaufort County health staff on Tuesday presented the county’s 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment, telling commissioners the report identifies access to care, behavioral health, chronic conditions and family-community support as the top priorities for local action.
Danielle, a health department presenter, told the board Beaufort County’s population estimate is 43,912 and has fallen on average about 0.6% per year since 2010. The assessment shows heart disease, cancer, COVID-19 and cerebrovascular disease as the top four causes of death for 2019–2023, Danielle said.
