At its April 7 meeting, the Duplin County Board of Commissioners took several unanimous, procedural votes and awarded a contract for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grant-administration services.
The board approved the consent agenda (including an amendment to agenda item 18), approved the meeting agenda, and approved minutes from March 3 and March 21 as presented. The board also ratified minutes for an April 1 joint meeting with a community college board of trustees.
On a separate item, county staff said they completed the selection process for the 2024 CDBG grant-administration contract and recommended awarding the contract to The Adams Group. The chair called for a motion; Commissioner Dowd moved to award the contract to The Adams Group and the motion was seconded (transcript records the second). The board voted aye and the motion carried.
Near the end of the meeting the board moved to go into closed session for personnel matters; that motion (moved by Commissioner Branch and seconded by Commissioner Garner) also carried unanimously.
No roll-call vote tallies identifying individual yes/no votes were read into the record; meeting votes on procedural matters were recorded by voice with unanimous “aye” responses from commissioners present.
