The Tourism Development Authority (TDA) requested the paperwork so it can continue mowing, cleaning and doing maintenance around the sign and update it if necessary. Staff said no money would exchange hands; the county’s name would appear as the easement grantee because the TDA cannot hold property under its current structure. County attorney Kim reviewed the draft and told staff the easement can be withdrawn in a year or two if the county wishes to reclaim the property or change terms. Commissioners asked whether larger sign changes would require prior approval; staff said they would request that any sign replacement or new design come back for county review. The item was presented for discussion; staff said they would follow up with the TDA and bring clarified language to a future agenda.
