West Windsor Township officials warned residents on June 30 about two near-term road projects that will close key local routes and include posted detours.
Mercer County will begin replacement of the bridge over the Millstone River on or about Monday, July 7. The township announcement says the bridge โ between West Windsor and Plainsboro townships โ is anticipated to be closed to all traffic for approximately 150 days, weather permitting. The posted detour route will use Cranbury (Cranberry) Road to Groversville Road; a map is available on the township website under News & Notices.
Also beginning on or about July 7, Garden Homes will construct a new roundabout on Meadow Road at the intersection with the Carnegie Center Connector Road. Meadow Road between the Route 1 interchange and Bear Brook Road is expected to be closed to all traffic until about Aug. 11, 2025; a detour map is posted on the township website. "Please honor all temporary traffic control measures for your safety and the safety of others," township staff said.
The township also noted that scheduled motor-vehicle commission mobile-unit appointments for July 14 at the senior-center parking lot filled quickly; residents are advised to check the registration link on the township website for cancellations.
Township officials urged drivers to follow posted detours and temporary traffic-control signage and to allow extra travel time while work is underway.
