Trustees asked about backup buses and the ongoing three-year replacement cycle; staff said the district maintains older buses as short-term backups and replaces about three buses per year as part of a rolling plan.
Trustees approved the purchase; the motion passed 7-0. Staff noted forthcoming legislative changes regarding seat-belt requirements may require retrofitting older buses.
