The Pearland Independent School District Board of Trustees reviewed and reapproved its standing rules and rules of conduct in open session on Aug. 12, voting 5-0 to retain the procedures currently posted on the district website.
Superintendent Dr. Berger said the annual review is routine and provides an opportunity for trustees ' including two recently seated members ' to confirm board expectations. "We are just asking the board as they have already done, to review these in the open session and then to approve their own operating procedures and rule of conduct and standing rules as they currently exist," Dr. Berger said.
Trustee Murphy moved to approve the item and Trustee Weimer seconded. During discussion trustees noted both new members completed a three-hour orientation covering required procedures and policies. The board recorded the vote 5-0 with Trustees Carter and Scheffler absent.
