The Wallingford Board of Education accepted three staff resignations during its Aug. 18 meeting following an executive session on personnel.
The board voted to accept the resignation of Jeffrey Cortella, a special education teacher employed since August 2007, effective June 30, 2025. The board also accepted the resignation of Barbara Minutillo, a TESOL teacher employed since October 2015, effective June 30, 2025. Finally, the board accepted the resignation of school nurse Sally Comrie, whose resignation is effective Sept. 13, 2025.

Actions taken: board member Mister Votto introduced the resignation motions; each motion was approved by voice vote. The board entered executive session earlier in the meeting to discuss “exceptions of resignations,” then returned to the public meeting and recorded the votes accepting the resignations.
Implementation steps: Human Resources will coordinate exit processing, benefits and recruitment as needed. The board publicly thanked departing staff for their years of service.
