Board approves Palmdale School District bus contract to expand transportation options

The board voted to approve a bus contract with Palmdale School District that will provide an additional transportation option for academics and athletics. Staff said the contract meets insurance requirements and expands options for local and out‑of‑area trips.

"This gives our academics and athletics another option to utilize for bus transportation, both locally and out of the out of the area," a staff presenter said. Staff told the board the contract is in addition to existing contracts and that local trips under the new agreement are expected to yield some cost savings for athletic travel, while other out‑of‑area options may remain cheaper.

Board members approved the contract by voice vote; the transcript records the motion, a second and the voice vote of "aye," but does not record a roll‑call tally by individual names. Staff thanked Paul and Jeff (present at the meeting) for their work in bringing the contract forward.
