A staff presenter told the board, “We previously didn't have a nondiscrimination policy. And as you, I brought you Title 9 a couple of board meetings ago. One of the things that's connected to Title 9 is also having a nondiscrimination policy, and that's, really rooted and connected in CSBA, especially when we look at policies that they recommend that school districts and or charter schools have.” The presenter described the nondiscrimination item as a first read but noted that recommended changes can be submitted before posting.
On harassment policy, staff said administrative regulations were added and updated to comply with Title IX and to ensure procedures were current. A board member moved to approve the nondiscrimination policy and later moved to adopt updates to the harassment policy and accompanying administrative regulations; both motions passed by voice vote.
