Jonathan Cohen addressed the board during public comment on Thursday to request the trustees’ nomination for an emergency vacancy on the Harris Central Appraisal District (HCAD) board.

“I’m asking for your guys’ nomination for that position,” Jonathan Cohen said, explaining the vacancy was to replace Cassandra Ozan Bambi (who previously represented HISD) and that the vacancy is separate from an ongoing election. Cohen told trustees he previously served on the HCAD board and described himself as a resident of the Cy‑Fair area with family ties to district schools.

Trustees did not take formal action on the public comment during the work session; the item was listed on the non‑consent agenda for the regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 8.
