The Sayreville Economic Redevelopment Agency on Aug. 14 approved Resolution 2025.08.0.37 authorizing Solar Landscape LLC to appear before the Sayreville Zoning Board to seek amended preliminary and final major site plans for a solar installation at Epic Church on the Main Street extension.

Attorney Michael Baker explained the history: the agency had previously designated Solar Landscape LLC as the site’s redeveloper and waived the requirement for a redevelopment agreement because the project was judged small and the church did not want to incur the negotiation cost. Baker said the current request is “not of their project, but for them to be able to go to the zoning board,” because the church site was not in a redevelopment area when originally approved. He described the submission as an amendment to the existing project that includes design changes to the solar panels.

Why it matters: Because the church’s original approval came through the zoning board rather than a redevelopment designation, the amended site plan must return to the zoning board rather than the planning board. The agency’s vote clears the developer to seek the zoning-board approvals needed for the revised design.

Vote and outcome: The agency chair called the roll on the motion to approve Resolution 2025.08.0.37; the roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes by Commissioners Davis, DeWise, Fisher, Grillo, Parikh, Roberts, Scott and Chairman Zabrowski. The motion passed.
