The Hushton Downtown Development Authority voted on Sept. 4 to recommend Anita Boyd as a candidate to fill the DDA seat vacated by Dr. Kumar. The DDA will forward the recommendation to the mayor and city council for final action.

The recommendation was made by paper ballot, with board members circling their choice and passing ballots to the next person, a process the presenter described during the meeting. A board member said she would recuse herself from the appointment vote; the DDA chair confirmed the recommendation will go to the council for final selection.
