Montpelier — The City Council unanimously adopted a resolution honoring the Trash Tramps, a volunteer litter‑cleanup group that has organized weekly downtown cleanups since 2010.
Council President read a resolution recounting the volunteers’ decade-long service, noting the group’s partnerships with the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District and local businesses that helped supply tools, high-visibility vests and cigarette receptacles. The resolution cites an estimate of about one million cigarette butts collected over the years and lists core volunteers who have served since the group’s founding.
Councilors commended the volunteers and approved the resolution by voice vote.
