The Pennington County Board of Commissioners voted to continue consideration of a report from the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit and to reconvene the Legislative Audit representative for a follow-up discussion. Audit representative Bruce Hintz attended the meeting and commissioners said the chair requested further answers before signing the auditor’s closing letter. Commissioner Drews moved to continue the item to the Sept. 2 meeting so commissioners could receive additional information from Hintz; the motion passed 4-1 with one commissioner dissenting. Commissioners said they wanted time to review several matters raised in the audit correspondence and to discuss specific questions with the auditor before finalizing any formal action.
