The Story County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 26-17 on Sept. 9 to amend a 2020 wastewater outfall easement with the city of Cambridge to correct an incorrect legal description.
Mike, a county staff member, told the board the buried outfall pipe itself lies on county property, but the easement’s legal description wrongly placed the interest on adjoining private property. The amendment removes that erroneous private‑property interest and restores the easement language to describe county property, Mike said. He told the board the Conservation Board and the city of Cambridge had both approved the amendment the prior evening.
The board opened a public hearing, received no public comment and then approved the resolution by roll call. County staff said the action corrects a drafting error in the recorded easement; the underlying pipe location did not move.
The board voted to adopt Resolution 26-17 after the public hearing.
