Village urges unregistered businesses to comply and prepares letters on expired preannexation agreements

Curtis also reported that the village removed temporary one-sided parking at 207 Center and distributed a door tag and QR-code survey to nearby residents to gather feedback. He said the village will ask the religious institution at 207 Center to meet again after a recent event created parking complaints from neighbors.
Finally, Curtis said the village will mail letters to owners of properties subject to preannexation agreements that have expired. By code, the agreements last 20 years; properties without an active agreement will be charged 150% of the water rate rather than the village rate (100%) unless a new agreement is executed.
The board received the informational report; no policy change or formal vote was taken at the meeting.
