Suzanne, a master‑plan staff member, said the team intends to replace seven existing bollard covers in front of the Capitol and add six new covers to match places currently protected by jersey barriers. The covers will match the manufacturer and style used elsewhere on the garden level and are intended to be in place before the annual Frontier Days event, Suzanne said.
Kevin, the state Capitol curator, described a tentative exhibition schedule through 2030 that will mix traveling exhibits and solo shows curated by the state and partner institutions. He said plans include a statewide exhibit tied to the 160th anniversary of Wyoming territorial status that would seek representation from each county.
Curator Kevin also reiterated the upcoming July 10 Capitol 250 kickoff, which staff want to use to showcase completed static exhibits in Package 3 and to hold a ribbon cutting for the portraits of history, stage vault and other installations if the schedule allows.
Staff said procurement timelines are active: the broadcast/studio portion of the broader appropriation remains under a consultant contract; the gallery and custodial break room design work are moving forward after consultant delays, and cost estimates will be available after the next consultant meeting. The overall appropriation cited in the meeting combines several projects (broadcast studio, Capitol gallery, custodial break room) and totals $1.5 million for that group, with a separate $2.3 million Capital Square Preservation appropriation that also covers bollards and acoustics.
Ending: staff will return with cost estimates and a draft schedule for pedestal and lighting work; the curator will present the draft exhibition calendar to the museum exhibit committee and the subcommittee in upcoming weeks.
