Town staff reported momentum on repairs and improvements to the local schoolhouse museum and said they expected to have at least two contractor estimates within two to three weeks.
Staff and council members said several contractors had inspected the schoolhouse and offered to provide estimates. “We’re moving forward with that, as soon as possible because we’re finally getting traction,” a council member said. Amanda, a staff member, said she would obtain at least two quotes and hoped to have them within two to three weeks for council review.
The council also discussed related site work, including burying an existing above-ground propane tank to clear space for landscaping and flower beds once the tank is relocated and replaced. Staff said they would research options for selling or relocating the existing tank and obtain information on whether a local propane company would buy it.
No formal contract award was made at the meeting; staff will return with written estimates and next steps.
