Staff said the village and donors would complete site-prep elements such as road base, culverts and silt fence where feasible and then remove those items from the contractor bid scope.
Committee members asked about the launch location in relation to existing playgrounds and river access; staff indicated the tentative access is off a drive by the park’s gate and that the launch site is near the current river access point. Staff said a newsletter highlight could follow once bids are complete or work is closer to completion.
No contract award or bid opening date was announced at the meeting; staff said they planned to finalize bid scope and solicit bids for the contractor portions next.
