Weston schedules pet vaccine clinic, plans kiosk repairs at dog park

Village staff told the parks committee June 6 that a free or low-cost rabies and microchip clinic for pets is scheduled for June 14 at the dog park, and that the village will post signage to notify residents after the park’s kiosk was blown down in recent storms.
Staff said they had posted 11-by-17 notices on the dog-park gate and that the clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon with veterinarian and licensed veterinary technicians scheduled to participate. Mountain Bay (financial sponsor) and the village coordinated the event; staff said they hope to make the clinic annual.
On the kiosk, staff said strong winds snapped both posts and destroyed most of the kiosk structure; only plexiglass from the door was salvageable. Crews will rebuild the kiosk when project schedules permit and will continue to post temporary notices on the fence in the meantime.
The committee discussed schedule conflicts and related park projects (Fuller Street construction and soccer-field drainage work) and confirmed basketball courts are not scheduled for pavement work this year.
