The council awarded multiple public‑works contracts and authorized the sale of used municipal vehicles and equipment at the meeting.
Council approved a contract with Gibson Thomas Engineering for inspection services on the 2025 overlay project in an amount not to exceed $34,850. Municipal staff said Gibson Thomas was the successful respondent to the solicitation and was the lowest responsible bidder.
Separately, the council awarded the 2025 road surface‑treatment project to Russell Standard in the amount of $159,489. Staff said the project will include fiber mat and fog seal treatments on a portion of Sardis Road from Salzburg to Maymont. The work was included in the 2025 capital improvement plan with an approved budget of $225,000; staff noted the low bid comes in under the approved budget.
Council also authorized staff to advertise for bids for the sale of used municipal vehicles and equipment. Staff provided a preliminary inventory that included a one‑ton dump truck, a one‑ton flatbed, a police vehicle, a light tower trailer and a tractor used at Sardis Park. The public‑works director estimated a combined return of roughly $60,000 for the listed items.
All three actions were approved by council without dissent. Staff will proceed with contracting and the advertised equipment sale and return to council with any required documentation and sale results.
