Beer board approves four Heritage Foundation event permits for 2025

The City of Franklin Beer Board on Feb. 11 approved beer service permits for four annual Heritage Foundation of Williamson County events in 2025: the Main Street Festival (April 26, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.), the 52nd Heritage Ball at Bicentennial Park (Oct. 4, 4 p.m.–midnight), Pumpkin Fest (Oct. 25, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and Dickens of a Christmas (Dec. 13–14, various hours). Votes on each permit were unanimous: Alderman Barnhill, Alderman Caesar and the chair voted yes.
Jamie Smith, director of events for the Heritage Foundation, told the board beer service will be in the same locations used in recent years — in front of McCreery’s Pub and within one of the quads around the square — with fenced areas, security and staff checking ABC (alcohol beverage control) cards and licenses. “So should be pretty standard,” Smith said.
Board members discussed event hours for the Heritage Ball at Bicentennial Park, which the organizer requested through midnight; Alderman Caesar asked whether the park’s neighborhood context merited a different standard, and staff said event‑by‑event permits would be used while the city evaluates broader venue standards.
Each event application was presented as complete and staff recommended approval. The board recorded individual votes for each event; all four motions passed by roll call.
