The City of Franklin Beer Board voted Feb. 11 to approve a manufacturer and distributor permit for S and S Technology LLC, doing business as Huevo, at 318 Seaboard Lane, Suite 405. Board members Alderman Barnhill, Alderman Caesar and the chair recorded unanimous yes votes on the motion, subject to the applicant supplying a certificate of occupancy.
Attorney Tucker Herndon introduced the applicant team; John Oberg is listed as chief operating officer and Jeffrey Welk as chief executive officer. Welk told the board the operation will manufacture gelatin-based jello shots using a malt‑seltzer base for distribution through wholesalers. “What we're looking to do is we're looking to produce jello shots, but with a malt seltzer base,” Welk said, adding there is no on‑premises consumption and no tasting center planned at this time.
Staff recommended contingent approval because the application was complete except for the certificate of occupancy. The board’s recorded action requires the applicant to provide the certificate of occupancy before final authorization to operate at the site.
