The City of Franklin Beer Board approved March 13 an on-premises beer permit for Boots and Beer LLC to serve beer inside the Takova’s retail store on Public Square, contingent on receipt of a certificate of occupancy.
Attorney Jenna Burrell and co-owner Tim Angelillo told the board the retail concept allows shoppers to be served a single beer while trying on boots; all customers are carded and employees hold TABC server permits. Burrell said snacks and prepared burritos will be provided, prepared off-site in a commercial kitchen.
Board members asked about the footprint and confirmed that customers cannot leave the retail store with alcohol in hand. The board moved and seconded the contingent approval; votes were yes from Alderman Barnhill, Alderman Caesar and the chair.
