The City of Franklin Beer Board on Aug. 12 approved a contingent on-premises beer permit for SSSB LLC d/b/a Amruth, subject to the applicant receiving a certificate of occupancy. Applicant Venu Alakom told the board he and partners operate the India Bazaar and Chai Samosa and that the new business will offer Asian and American-style food along with beer and liquor. Staff recommended contingent approval because the certificate of occupancy was pending; board members approved the permit by roll call with the condition that staff confirm issuance of the CO before the permit is activated. The board recorded no additional conditions; the applicant said the business expects to open in August.
