High-school renovation, roofing and signage projects continue as district readies buildings for September

The district also said it received grant funding from Assemblyman Al Sturbi's office to install four electronic message boards at FM High School, Eagle Hill Middle School, Edders Road Elementary School, the Wellwood campus and Mott Road Elementary in time for the new school year, with additional funding for another sign at Bridal Lane next summer. The superintendent emphasized that the signage is being paid for through the assemblyman's grant rather than district funds.
Facilities committee chair Dan reported deliveries and turnover schedules: multiple spaces are scheduled to be turned over to the district on Aug. 29, close to the start of the school year, and internal staff have planned extensive preparation work over Labor Day weekend. Dan also previewed the district's next project focus after the high school work, noting that modular classrooms currently at the high school will be relocated in the summer of 2026 to provide additional air-conditioned flex space at Eagle Hill and the Lenders Road campus; exact placement is still being determined.
Discussion versus decisions: The board received progress reports and scheduling information; no formal capital-project approvals were taken at the meeting. Board members cautioned that construction sites may appear incomplete shortly before opening but stated confidence that the interim teams will complete required punch-list work.
Background: Administrators invited board members to a facilities tour tied to the district's August 25 special meeting and the annual opening-day events later in the month. The district noted furniture deliveries and installation of a learning-stair video screen at the high school as part of ongoing work.
