The Rutland Town Select Board on Oct. 26 authorized the town administrator to sign a reimbursement request to the Vermont Agency of Transportation for a sidewalk project listed as STPB P2314, contract CAO813.
Town Road Commissioner Dave Sears presented a reimbursement packet showing an invoice total of $12,001.26. The paperwork lists a 20% local match of $2,425.22 and a reimbursement request equal to the difference, approximately $9,700.86. Sears told the board he was required to certify that the local match had not been provided by other federally assisted programs and warned of penalties for false statements on federal reimbursement requests.
After a motion and second, the board voted to authorize the town officer to sign the request; the chair noted the motion carries and that the paperwork will be signed.
The approval lets the town submit the reimbursement claim to VTrans under the STPB P2314/CAO813 contract and move forward on closing the invoice for the JP sidewalk work. The board did not expand on other contract details during the session.
