Brandon Lopez, partner at CBIZ, highlighted the village’s “very strong” fiscal position and the finance team’s receipt of a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the prior report. Finance staff also presented the village’s first popular annual financial report intended as a resident‑facing summary of finances and capital projects.
On the consent agenda the council also approved a supplemental state grant agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation providing $500,000 for an underdrain project on La Mancha Avenue; staff said the grant will fund the La Mancha subdivision roadway underdrain work and that state legislators and staff helped secure the award. The council voted unanimously to accept the grant.
The council authorized the village manager to enter a phase‑1 progressive design‑build contract with Hoffman Lynn Construction (price not to exceed $901,824) for the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center expansion and renovations; staff said the contract would cover design and permitting and that a guaranteed maximum price for construction would return to council for approval. That consent item also passed unanimously.
