Local nonprofit Path to College seeks mentors and expands SAT and college‑prep outreach

Acusio said Path to College started in 2017 with 10 students and now serves a flagship three‑year fellowship of about 100 students and reaches roughly 1,000 students each year through outreach. The organization provides college‑application assistance, scholarship and FAFSA support, mock interviews, job‑shadowing and SAT preparation; Acusio said the nonprofit has delivered about $175,000 worth of advising and SAT tutoring services to the community and estimated the long‑term earnings impact of its fellows at roughly $124,000,000 in aggregate increased lifetime earnings.
Acusio said the organization will open the Catapult Youth Mentoring, College and Career Center in Lake Worth Beach this fall to provide walk‑in advising, career panels and internship connections. She invited council members and residents to nominate education champions for the organization’s Education Fest on June 5 and to attend Path to College’s Turn the Tables career and internship expo on March 31 in Boynton Beach.
Acusio said the group will accept 45 new fellows this fall and needs at least 45 mentors; she provided QR codes and sign‑up instructions for volunteers and said the fellowship application opens April 1.
