The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) update reported to the Cheltenham board at the August meeting included an overview of the IU’s recently released budget book and staffing totals.
The MCIU reported the budget overview documents compiled by its Office of Business Services and highlighted revenue sources and how funds are spent. The representative said the IU employs 848 people and has a budget of about $198,000,000 for the 2025–26 fiscal year.

The MCIU also presented approved salary-structure adjustments for several employee groups and reported MOUs with districts participating in the Project AWARE federal mental‑health grant and intergovernmental agreements for shared services. One IU leader, Dr. Landis, was noted as retiring as of that meeting.
