The Pine County Board of Commissioners appointed Commissioner Holland as the county’s representative to the Central Minnesota Jobs & Training (CMJT) board after the organization reported that the prior commissioner appointee had stopped attending meetings, county staff said. The joint powers agreement for CMJT requires a board appointment; the board also designated an alternate (Commissioner Moore remains the alternate unless changed).
Separately, the board recorded that the municipal representative seat on the East Central Regional Development Commission (ECRDC) remains vacant. County staff noted that mayors and city councils in the county have 30 days to nominate municipal candidates for the ECRDC municipal seat and that, if multiple nominees exist, mayors vote to select a representative. Board members urged municipal officials to nominate a candidate to fill the vacancy.
The board approved Commissioner Holland’s appointment by motion and voice vote.
