Village staff told the council the village’s cybersecurity remediation program is nearing completion and that the village will finish integration of new security cameras with county police monitoring this week.
Assistant village manager Jason Goldstein reported the cybersecurity remediation effort has been “a very heavy lift” for the small village staff and that the work is about 80% finished; he said he and the village manager will present the state of recommended cybersecurity measures to the incoming council.
Village manager Julian Mansfield said equipment purchased for the public‑safety committee’s camera initiative had arrived and that Montgomery County Police Department IT staff will install the equipment; once installed, county police will be able to view the village cameras in real time and collect footage without separate retrieval steps. Mansfield said staff expected the installation to be completed by the end of the week and committed to reporting back to the council.
Council members welcomed the updates and urged continued attention to information-security remediation and coordination with county partners on camera monitoring and incident reporting.
