Public works updates: influent line operational; clubhouse excavation nearly complete; road and sewer projects moving to next phases

Staff updated the committee on several capital projects. "Construction went well. The new line was installed. It's operational. We have our IEPA permit," a staff member said about the new redundant filter influent line; repair work to the original influent line and settling basins will be scheduled for fall when water production is lower.
The clubhouse project manager reported that basement excavation is almost complete and the site is ready for concrete piers: "They've dug out the whole basement and then certain additional excavations for these concrete piers that will support the steel columns," the speaker said, adding that construction timelines and permits are being finalized.
Staff also summarized planned roadway and bridge work: final engineering and spot repairs for Scott Avenue, a resurfacing and repair project on Sylvan Road, and an upcoming award of contract for Sylvanville bridge resurfacing. Sanitary sewer rehabilitation under the I&I program remains in scoping due to coordination with the village’s consultant.
Separately, staff reported recent work at the intersection of Dunton and Britain and noted upcoming boring for a water main phase from Vernon to Green Bay Road. Several items require further permitting, coordination and public engagement; staff said more detailed timelines and public outreach will follow in the coming months.
