Village staff gave a preview of a public dashboard that will display progress on the village’s strategic plan, showing completed steps, risks and analytics tied to individual initiatives.
The dashboard matters because it is intended to increase transparency and public trust by posting key milestones, quarterly progress reports and related analytics online so residents can see how initiatives are advancing.
Staff told the board the strategic plan was adopted in December 2024 and covers 2025 through 2027 with four goals: reliable infrastructure, economic vitality, resilient community and workplace excellence. The board approved a software subscription with Inviso to track progress. The presenter said the tool will generate quarterly progress reports (the initial report was included in the meeting packet) and support a public‑facing dashboard that explains why each initiative is included and summarizes completed work, risks and next steps.
The dashboard will tie initiatives to analytics such as community survey results, building‑permit data and revenue trends; staff said additional studies such as a streetscape or parking study can be added later to give residents more context. A progress bar on the dashboard will roll up activity across initiatives; the packet contains a key explaining the progress colors and what they mean for being “on track.”
Project leads are responsible for updating their individual initiatives in the tool; staff member presenters said they and communications manager Sammy Hans will be the primary keepers who review and publish dashboard updates. The presenter thanked Sammy Hans, saying, “She really did a great job in assisting me in understanding the dashboard.” The presenter asked board members for feedback on wording and presentation before an August go‑live date mentioned during the discussion.
No board action was taken; staff requested feedback on the dashboard display and said they will update it on a quarterly basis to coincide with the board’s quarterly reports. The village will return to the board if members request specific changes to the public display or different reporting cadence.
