Village staff gave the board an update on the golf operation on Oct. 5, reporting that July was a successful month and that course construction and site work are progressing.
Stella (Golf staff) said, “July was a successful month. Rounds and revenue on the budget. Revenue was about 12% of the budget.” She reported that construction crews are forming and pouring basement walls and that landscaping removal along Westley will begin to create a temporary entrance for utility work on the west side of the parking lot.
Stella said the driving range is scheduled to close Sept. 8 so crews can install underground water‑storage infrastructure and expand the parking lot to the east. Staff said the course is managing special events during construction and that the project team expects construction invoices to be submitted in coming months, which will increase capital‑project spending on the village accounts.
Stella also noted the “play for pink” fundraising event that generated proceeds for cancer support; in the meeting transcript she said the event raised “moving progress cancer 3 to $48,000.” (Transcript phrasing unclear; figure presented by staff was $48,000.)
Ending: Staff will continue to provide construction and operations updates to the board as invoices come in and as the driving‑range closure approaches.
