The Abington Board of School Directors on Aug. 26 approved a personnel addendum that included staff appointments, changes in status, leaves of absence and retirements. Administrators highlighted the retirement of Dr. Tony Butts, director of teaching and learning since 2018, and thanked her for district service. The board also acknowledged the retirement of Sarah Davis, a Willow Hill aide who served six years.

The personnel addendum also included appointments and rehires for the 2025–26 school year, and the board welcomed Patty Denicola, the district’s incoming chief financial officer, who was introduced during the meeting as transitioning into the role following Mr. Lionetti’s retirement.

Board members offered public thanks to Dr. Butts for curriculum leadership, federal funding oversight and support during the COVID years. The personnel addendum was approved by roll call.
