The Centerville City Council voted Sept. 2 to award the 2025 slurry‑seal pavement maintenance contract to Morgan Pavement Maintenance for a reported bid of $163,001.78 (bid amount read during the meeting as "$163,001.78 and 50¢"). Staff said four bids were received and two came in below the engineer’s estimate; Morgan has performed similar work in the city previously and staff recommended awarding to Morgan.
Kevin Campbell, filling in for Public Works staff, told the council that Morgan has done the work before and performs well. A council member moved to approve the bid award and the motion was seconded; the council approved the bid by roll call.
Council direction included proceeding with contract execution and scheduling the work; no amendments were offered during the meeting.
