Superintendent: ETHS will remain a safe haven amid reports of potential federal presence

Evanston Township High School Superintendent Dr. Campbell told the board on Sept. 8 the district is preparing guidance and coordinating with local agencies in response to reports about a possible increase in federal agency presence.

“ETHS will continue to serve as a safe haven for students and staff to the fullest extent permitted by the law,” Dr. Campbell said. He said the district will provide guidance to administrators and safety personnel on student rights, protections and protocols for interactions with federal agencies and that the district is communicating with the City of Evanston, the Evanston Police Department and the district’s legal team.
