DuPage HSD 88 board approves audit renewal, rejects Addison Trail bids, backs Illinois Vision 2030 and other measures

The DuPage High School District 88 Board of Education approved several routine and policy items during its meeting, including renewing audit services, rejecting a construction bid, and adopting several resolutions.

The board voted to continue audit services with Lauterbach & Amen LLP for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, at a fee of $30,100, representing a 2.73% increase under a previously accepted multiyear proposal. The motion to accept the renewal passed on a roll call vote with Board members Taylor, Galvin, Olsen, Finnegan and Kane recorded as voting yes.

The board rejected the two bids received March 4, 2025, for the hot water tank replacement at Addison Trail High School and directed staff to rebid the project to seek more competitive pricing. The motion to reject the bids passed on a roll call vote with Board members Galvin, Olsen, Finnegan, Taylor and Kane recorded as voting yes.

Board members approved a resolution expressing support for Illinois Vision 2030. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Olsen, Finnegan, Taylor, Galvin and Kane recorded as voting yes.

The board approved proposed amendments to the DuPage West Cook (DWC) intergovernmental agreement to move oversight of the cooperative from a board model to an oversight-committee model. The presenter described the DWC as an umbrella arrangement that coordinates several special-education cooperatives (including SASID and LAADSE) that operate specific programs such as vision services and deaf and hard-of-hearing services; the DWC itself does not directly operate those programs. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Jenna Graham, Taylor, Galvin, Olsen and Kane recorded as voting yes. The presenter noted all districts in the cooperative must approve the amended agreement for the change to take effect.

The board renewed membership in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for the 2025–26 school year, agreeing to abide by the association’s constitution, bylaws, terms and administrative procedures. The renewal motion passed on a roll call vote with Finnegan, Taylor, Galvin, Olsen and Kane recorded as voting yes.

Other routine meeting motions — establishing and approving the consent agenda and moving into closed session for personnel and collective bargaining deliberations — were approved by roll call. The board recessed into closed session and later reconvened; no action was taken upon reconvening.
