The DuPage HSD 88 Board of Education opened a public hearing on proposed honorable dismissals and, after a presentation from the district human resources office, adopted resolutions issuing notices of honorable dismissal to a set of certificated teachers and to a group of educational support staff for the 2025–26 school year.
Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Michael Baldwin told the board the staffing changes reflect course enrollment and program shifts. Baldwin said the district’s most recent accounting of course sections produced a net districtwide decrease of 2.8 full-time-equivalent teaching positions and a decline of 57 students. He described internal re‑allocations — for example, some reading-3 sections for students with IEPs were moved from a special-education accounting line into literacy — and program-location adjustments such as an advanced construction class that will be offered at Willowbrook rather than Addison Trail next year.
Baldwin said the net 2.8 FTE reduction was absorbed in part through retirements and other personnel moves; he told the board that many of the notices being issued target part-time teachers, interns and teacher aides. He also said one transition-program position was reduced because students in that program are aging out; the district expects the transition program to grow again so the need may return. Baldwin added that some staff who receive notices may be eligible to apply for open positions in the district or to be rehired for part‑time work.
During the meeting the board voted to adopt two resolutions that the administration presented: one providing notice of honorable dismissal for certificated staff and a second providing notice for educational support personnel. The certificated staff named in the motion were Stephen Boise; Nydia Cabrera; Lillian Dudas; Natasha Glamosila (as spoken in the meeting); Faiza Guma; Daniel Hay; Alexa Jurkis; Maria Lewis; Macy Sherwood; Caitlin May; Georgine Olinsky; Amanda Rolfing; and Joseph Stephens. The board adopted that resolution by roll call (all members voting yes as recorded in the minutes). The board also adopted the educational-support resolution listing Samantha Almeida Ortega; Littis Bustos; Marilia Da Silva; Lillian Dudas; Cecilia Feliciano; Ashley Fuentes; Eric Geiselman; Faiza Guzman; Ashley Jones; Alex Jerkis; Vedrana Capetina; Anthony Lang; Jennifer Mendoza; Jocelyn Ortiz; Macy Sherwood; and Jennifer Stevens; that resolution likewise passed on recorded roll call votes.
The board opened and closed the public hearing on the proposed honorable dismissals at the same meeting and followed the hearing with the listed actions. The administration emphasized that some of the personnel reductions were accounting reclassifications or part‑time positions, and that district officials expect to post open positions and consider applicants from among affected staff.
The board did not adopt additional policy changes at the hearing; the meeting record shows standard procedural votes (opening/closing the hearing and adopting the two dismissal resolutions) and that no public commenters addressed the hearing. The board’s action issued formal notices of dismissal; the transcript and agenda indicate the dismissals were presented as required administrative steps tied to projected course offerings and enrollment for 2025–26.
