District 88 approves classroom lease with SASID, equipment lease from Quadient and custodial supply contracts

The board packet indicated the SASID board of control approved a classroom lease agreement between District 88 and SASID for five classrooms for 2025–26 at a total of $125,000 (three rooms at Addison Trail and two at Willowbrook), the same arrangement and rate as the prior year. The administration recommended board approval.
The board also authorized a 60-month lease with Quadient for two postage machines and two folding machines for Willowbrook and the district office at $828.28 per month (total lease cost $49,696.80). Board materials said existing equipment expires May 29, 2025, and the replacement machines are required to remain compliant with USPS standards. The presentation noted Quadient was awarded under a Sourcewell cooperative contract for postal and mailing equipment and services; Sourcewell contracts are available to government agencies after a competitive solicitation process.
Finally, the board accepted the lowest responsive and responsible bids for 38 custodial supply items from multiple vendors, recommending a total purchase amount of $72,797.31 for Addison Trail, Willowbrook and the district office for the 2025–26 school year.
All three procurement motions were approved by roll call. Board members asked a procedural question about the expiration of other site leases; staff confirmed Addison Trail's lease does not expire for another year. The motions were approved and the contracts will be executed in line with the Sourcewell cooperative terms and the district's procurement policies.
