Addison Trail and Willowbrook outline opening‑week schedules, community nights and fall sports

Addison Trail and Willowbrook High Schools outlined schedules and events for the start of the 2025‑26 school year during the Aug. 11 Board of Education meeting.

Addison Trail principal Jack Andrews told the board that freshmen will start Aug. 14 at 7:45 a.m. and the remainder of the student body will join at 11 a.m. Ninth graders will tour the building and attend an activity fair; the school will hold a safety week beginning Aug. 19 with evacuation, shelter, severe‑weather and active‑threat drills. Addison Trail’s Blue and White community night is scheduled for Aug. 22 with gates opening at 4:45 p.m. The principal also reminded families fall‑sports registration is open and said families may contact the athletic department for assistance.

Willowbrook principal Dr. Daniel Krause said Willowbrook will follow a similar freshmen‑only morning on Aug. 14 (7:45–11:30 a.m.) with team‑building activities and abbreviated first‑day schedules for all students beginning at 11:30 a.m. Willowbrook’s senior sunrise is scheduled Aug. 13 at 5 a.m. in the stadium; Willowbrook will also hold a safety week Aug. 18–22 with an annual severe‑weather drill, shelter‑in‑place, evacuation and bus evacuation drills. Willowbrook’s Silver and Blue community night is scheduled for Aug. 22 and the first Willowbrook Parent Organization meeting is Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. Fall sports offerings and registration links were provided by the school.
