The Board of Education approved the purchase of a previously owned 2020 Chevrolet multifunction activity bus for Addison Trail High School for $55,500, board minutes show.
Board staff presented the recommendation at the Aug. 11 meeting, saying the district’s Addison Trail auto teacher inspected the vehicle and recommended purchase to replenish the activity‑bus fleet. The seller was identified as Cottage Hill Operating Company; because the vehicle is used and sold by that vendor, staff said the purchase did not require public bidding.
The motion to approve the purchase passed by roll call vote.
The district did not discuss replacement schedule specifics beyond saying the current activity bus at Addison Trail is “near the end of its life” and has required frequent repairs; no delivery date or funding source beyond the procurement motion was specified at the meeting.
