Board approves updated intergovernmental agreement for Army Trail Nature Center

The DuPage High School District 88 Board of Education voted to approve a revised intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Addison Park District and Addison School District 4 concerning the Army Trail Nature Center, located across from Addison Trail High School.
District staff described the updated agreement as largely unchanged from the prior version, with one administrative change: Addison School District 4 is no longer a party to the agreement. Under the terms reported to the board, District 88 will continue routine grounds responsibilities along the Nature Center frontage, such as mowing and trimming. Snow removal responsibilities previously assigned to District 4 will now be handled by the park district, the administration said.
"The obligations are the same as they always were," a district staff member told the board while describing the IGA. The board moved to approve the intergovernmental agreement as presented; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The administration did not present new costs tied to the revision at the meeting and said the change mostly clarifies parties' operational duties along Lombard Road frontage.
Board members voted to approve the intergovernmental agreement during the meeting; copies of the executed agreement were made available to board members upon passage.
