After an initial deadlock on May 6, the Dixon Board of Education held a follow-up vote Wednesday and elected Brandon Rogers as vice president.
The board had two nominated candidates: Brandon Rogers and John Wadsworth. After a roll call, Brandon Rogers received a majority of votes cast and was declared elected.
The board counted four affirmative votes for Rogers; the tally included aye votes from Shaffer, LeBlanc Parks, Rogers and Wagner. Several board members voted no; the motion carried once the majority threshold was met.
Board members congratulated Rogers on his election and moved to the next agenda item.
