“…this would be awarded to JCT to place cameras on Atlantic Avenue. It's done in conjunction with the road project that we're doing Atlantic Avenue. So we had to wait for the fiber to be installed as part of that project,” a city staff member said during the council discussion. The staff member added the cameras will become part of the citywide surveillance platform.
Scope and placement: The administration said locations will follow the same path as the roadway work, from Albany Avenue down toward New Hampshire Avenue, and that equipment and fiber availability drove the schedule. The project is grant‑funded and staff said installation follows the roadway contractor’s fiber installation.
