Salem County commissioners adopt salary resolution and approve package of routine measures

The Salem County Board of County Commissioners on March 5 adopted a second-reading resolution to fix the annual salary for county commissioners and approved a package of routine resolutions covering appointments, grant requests, contract amendments and equipment purchases.
The salary measure (resolution A‑1) was opened for public hearing and adoption; no members of the public spoke during the hearing. The board then closed the hearing and adopted the resolution by roll-call vote, with Deputy Director Ostrom, Commissioner Timberman, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Ramsey and Director Lawrie recorded as voting yes.
The board also adopted a set of additional resolutions by roll call, covering: an appointment to the South Jersey Economic Development District; submission of requests for fiscal year 2026 congressional community project funding; a resolution supporting a Lower Alloways Creek Township application to Congressman Van Drew for sluice gate evaluation and repair (Resolution 2025‑45); an amendment to a professional services contract with USA Architects reducing the contract by $76,836.27; award of an election services contract to the Board of Elections; purchase contracts for four 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s and one 2025 Chevrolet Colorado for Public Works and Engineering; a shared‑service agreement with the Cumberland County Improvement Authority for Social Services Building renovations; and approval of a renaming and improvements for the Salem County Recreational Area at Perkantown Road and U.S. 130.
