Conroe ISD names three new campuses for local educators; unanimous board votes

Trustees described public submissions and several speakers at public comment who asked the board to honor Cartwright, a longtime Conroe teacher who served 40 years in the district. Trustee discussion noted outreach to family and colleagues and the research trustees said they performed to confirm suitability for naming.
Board members stressed the seriousness of the naming process; one trustee described contacting families and district staff to verify nominations and said the board will continue to accept names for future campuses. All three naming motions passed 6–0.
The board discussed placement and alignment of honorees with feeder patterns before final votes and approved the names in open session. The district will update campus signage and administrative records to reflect the new names as facilities move toward opening.
