At a short meeting starting at 1:02 p.m., the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to cast the district’s ballots in the 2025–26 Montgomery County Central Appraisal District Board of Directors election, allocating 675 votes to Charles Shirley and 710 votes to Louis Pedraza.
The action came as the only item on the board’s agenda. A trustee moved to cast the votes for the two candidates and the motion was seconded; the board approved the motion by the uplift of hands, with the chair announcing the motion carried 5-0.
Board discussion on the item was limited. One trustee asked a procedural clarification about whether the resolution both authorized and cast the votes; a board member clarified that the resolution itself constituted the casting of the votes. No public commenters addressed the item during the meeting; the board’s public-comment period had no speakers signed up.
During the motion the board president named five individuals who had been nominated for the appraisal district board: Dale Inman, Jerry Nash, Bruce Reeser, Louis Pedraza and Charles Shirley. The board cast the district’s allocated votes for Shirley and Pedraza as recorded during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn; the board adjourned at 1:07 p.m.
(The board referenced state open-meetings law and its own public-comment policy when opening the meeting.)
