The council also reaffirmed a communication process: the district'appointed adviser (Dr. Murrell) said that, out of respect for administrative procedure, all SHAC requests for data or district staff time should be routed through her (or sent directly to the board president) so the district can coordinate responses and post materials. Trustee Odenweiler's introductory remarks, delivered via video, similarly asked SHAC to direct requests through the board channel.
Members identified initial topics for subcommittees including reviewing the wellness plan, mental health and suicide prevention, cellphone use in schools, and bullying policy follow-up. Staff said subcommittees are advisory and any proposed bylaw changes or policy recommendations must be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for final action.
